Tips--Keeping
your seat dry |
||
|
I'm not
a traditionalist when it comes to biking. I like my ride nice and
easy with plenty of friends to chat with and a nice thick, soft,
comfortable gel-seat to ride on. Life is truly wonderful in those
moments. The only thing finer, is when we stop, lock One sure way to spoil the day is to look up from our conversations and glance through the restaurant window as a quick summer squall blows through. You just know that when you return to your bike, instead of a nice comfortable seat, you've got a big fat, WET sponge to ride on for the rest of the day.
Jim has a suggestion that could solve that little problem. Cover your seat with a left over plastic shopping bag. If you don't have plastic bags, pull out a gallon zip lock bag and toss it into your bike bag. The zip lock bag is tougher and even less porous. Don't have room in your bike bag? Not a problem there. Just roll up the bag and tuck it into the space in your seat springs. Just make sure to leave a little bit sticking out so that you can pull it out of the springs when you need it. Key points to remember?
