the hike meets at Channahon State Park and follows the bike trail along the I & M Canal west to McKinley Woods and then returns.
The trail is partly asphalt and part packed gravel and all flat with the canal on one side and river on the other side traveling through mostly woods.
This there-and-back hike is approximately 6 miles.
Lunch afterwards in Channahon.
