Let's welcome the return of better weather and enjoy the trail when it's less crowded on a week day.<br />This is a leisurely ride - about 10mph. We'll have time to sniff flowers, watch sailboats, and maybe see birds at the nature sanctuary near Montrose promontory).<br />We'll start at the LaRabida Hospital parking lot (6501 S. Promontory Drive) off Marquette Drive and Lake Shore Drive, just north of 67th street. After the entrance, turn south for the parking lot. <br />Lunch stop at "The Dock at Montrose Beach" (4400 N. Lake Shore Drive on the bike trail).<br />Estimated distance - about 33 miles round trip.<br />Temperature predicted to be mid 70's.<br />Winds from NNE (at our back on the way home)<br />No shade - bring sunscreen.<br />Like Jim T's rides, please let me know if you are thinking of joining me so I can contact you if something changes.<br />An alternate date for this ride is Friday, August 26.
